When in South Africa, a common bird to hunt with your Mini Striker 125 lbs is the rock pigeon, also known as the speckled pigeon, or guinea pigeon. There are multiple ways to prepare this wild game, from jerky biltong, to barbeque on the grill, to a delicious stew, and more!
Ingredients for Rock Pigeon Stew:
-2 lbs of rock pigeon breasts chopped up into approximately one inch pieces
-½ cup of chopped onion
-Minced garlic
-½ tsp chilli pepper
-3 tbsp of brown sugar
-1 tsp of curry powder
-Salt and pepper to taste
-1 cup of water
-2 cups of mixed vegetables
-Rice
Directions :
Saute the onion and garlic in olive oil, and fry it until golden brown, then add in chopped up pieces of pigeon breast. Next, add water, salt, pepper, brown sugar, curry powder and chili powder until fully cooked. Finally, add 2 cups of mixed vegetables. Serve over rice. Enjoy!
